Taiwan e-invoice for B2C transactions

The Taiwan Ministry of Finance (MoF) requires merchants to send an electronic Government Uniform Invoice (eGUI). Reach implemented an e-invoice per Taiwan's eGUI standards. This feature assists global B2C merchants in conducting local business in Taiwan.

Note

This e-invoice is only applicable for B2C digital goods transactions. Reach does not issue an e-invoice for B2B digital goods transactions.

When a shopper purchases a digital product in Taiwan, we automatically generate the e-invoice within an hour and send the shopper an e-invoice email through ezReceipt, which handles the data exchange with the Taiwan MoF. The email received by the shopper contains limited information, including the amount, date, and tracking IDs, but it does not detail specific purchased items. We designed this system to automatically generate these e-invoices without any action required from the merchant.

Note that the e-invoice is an official invoice for the total amount of the order, primarily for government record-keeping and tax purposes. Merchants still need to send their regular detailed receipts, which provide customer service information, return policies, and itemized lists with taxes, as the invoices do not include these details.

The following example shows an email notification confirming that Reach uploaded the eGUI to the MoF system.
