Step 4e. Activate Shopify Payments for the European Union

This guide will walk you through activating Shopify Payments for the European Union.

To use Reach's local acquiring solution through Shopify Payments, you must schedule a go-live call with Reach.

Important

Do not begin this until the scheduled go-live call with Reach. You should only activate Shopify Payments with your Reach representative during that call.

Before you start, choose the appropriate activation method:

Activate Shopify Payments for a configured credit card payment provider

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Payments.
  2. Click Activate Shopify Payments.

Activate Shopify Payments for an unconfigured credit card payment provider

If you haven't set up a credit card payment provider, you can complete the account setup on the Complete account setup page. This page guides you through the steps to set up Shopify Payments for your store.

  1. To set up Shopify Payments for your store, click Submit details from the Complete account setup page.
  1. Select A registered business from the I am running my store as option list, choose Private corporation from the dropdown list, and click Next.

  2. Complete the fields under Business details and Business Address, and include the following information:

Required informationDescription
Registered business nameEnter the selling entity's name provided by your Reach representative.
Business registry code (Äriregistri kood)Enter the registry code provided by your Reach representative.
Phone numberEnter the phone number provided by your Reach representative and select the country associated with the phone number.
Business addressEnter the selling entity's address provided by your Reach representative.
  1. Click Next.
  2. Complete the fields under Industry type and Details in customer bank statement, and include the following information:
Required informationDescription
CategorySelect your company's business category from the Category dropdown list.
Sub-categorySelect your company's business sub-category from the Sub-category dropdown list.
Description of products or servicesDescribe your company's product or service.
Store phone numberEnter your store or customer service phone number.
VAT Number (Käibemaksukohustuslase number)Enter the VAT number provided by your Reach representative.
  1. Click Next.
  2. Complete the fields under Account representative and click Next.
Required informationDescription
First name and Last nameEnter the name of the account representative provided by your Reach representative.
This person owns 25% or more equity in the business.Select this checkbox. When you select this checkbox, the Equity field appears.
EquityEnter the percent of equity owned by the account representative provided by your Reach representative.
This person is an executive in the company.Select this checkbox.
Date of birthEnter the account representative's date of birth provided by your Reach representative.
Job roleEnter the account representative's job role provided by your Reach representative.
EmailEnter the account representative's email address provided by your Reach representative.
Phone numberEnter the account representative's phone number provided by your Reach representative and select the country associated with the phone number.
Country/regionSelect the country associated with the address provided by your Reach representative.
AddressEnter the residential address provided by your Reach representative.
CityEnter the city address provided by your Reach representative.
ProvinceEnter the province address provided by your Reach representative.
Postal codeEnter the postal code provided by your Reach representative.
Residential addressEnter the residential address provided by your Reach representative. The selling entity's country determines the required fields.
  1. If Equity ownership is less than 100%, click Add another equity owner.
  1. Complete the fields for the second equity owner, click Save, and then click Next.
Required informationDescription
First name and Last nameEnter the name of the account representative provided by your Reach representative.
EquityEnter the percent of equity owned by the account representative provided by your Reach representative.
This person is an executive in the companySelect this checkbox.
This person is on the company's board of directorsClear this checkbox.
Date of birthEnter the account representative's date of birth provided by your Reach representative.
Job roleChairman of the Board
EmailEnter the account representative's email provided by your Reach representative.
Country/regionSelect the country associated with the address provided by your Reach representative.
AddressEnter the residential address provided by your Reach representative.
CityEnter the city address provided by your Reach representative.
ProvinceEnter the province address provided by your Reach representative.
Postal codeEnter the postal code provided by your Reach representative.
  1. If Equity ownership shows You have reached 100% equity, click Next.
  1. After reviewing your Board of directors and click Next.
  1. After reviewing your Executives changes and click Next.
  1. Review your store changes, select VAT Registration from the Business documentation dropdown list, upload the Reach-provided VAT registration document for the selling entity, and click Confirm.
  1. Expand and review the first account representative changes and click Confirm.
  2. Upload the first account representative's residential address and identity documents provided by your Reach representative and click Confirm.
  3. Expand and review the second account representative changes and click Confirm.
  1. Review the remaining equity. If it is 0%, click Confirm.
  2. When all the items on the page are Ready to submit, click Submit for verification.
